Chad Bowes and Tom Latham’s Strong Efforts Fall Short as Auckland Defeats Canterbury

AA vs CTB Highlights for the 6th match of Super Smash 2024-25

Auckland vs Canterbury Match 6 Updates

The 6th Match of the Super Smash League started with Canterbury winning the toss at Eden Park and opting to ball first. Currently, Auckland is above Canterbury in the points table, with Canterbury failing to win a single match since the start of the season. Here are the highlights for the 6th match of Super Smash between AA vs CTB.

Unbothered Auckland Batting

Auckland’s batting lineup was in full control in the first innings of the match, with Martin Guptill’s strong knock of 60 off 35 balls set a solid foundation for a strong target. However, Canterbury’s bowlers showed strong resilience. Shipley was exceptional, taking 5 wickets for just 19 runs, while McKenzie supported with 2 wickets for 59 runs.

Their combined efforts were successful in slowing down Auckland’s momentum, keeping the total under 200. Despite the pressure from the bowling end, Bevon Jacobs played a strong stint, smashing 53 off 33 balls, including 5 sixes, to guide Auckland to a strong total of 185/8. Though they were slowed down, Auckland still posted a competitive score, leaving Canterbury with a challenging chase in the second innings of the match.
