A New Record For Virat Kohli In 1st ODI against SA

In the ongoing ODI series between South Africa vs India, former Indian captain Virat Kohli has achieved a new record in the 1st ODI game at Paarl. Virat Kohli has now crossed the record of Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of most runs in away ODI’s for India.

Virat has scored a terrific 51 in his first ODI game of 2022 and also added a crucial 92 run partnership with Dhawan. Virat Kohli needed just 9 runs before the start of the game – But the right-handed batsman has made a beautiful half-ton and named one more record to his name.

Sachin Tendulkar has scored 5065 runs in 147 innings and Virat Kohli has passed his record in just 104 innings and with a good average of 58. And the list is followed by legendary MS Dhoni who made 4520 in 124 innings, Rahul Dravid with 3998 in 110 innings, Sourav Ganguly with 3468 in 105 innings.

Virat has a really good record against South Africa, where he has scored 1287 runs against them and he is the 8th highest run-getter against them in ODI’s. In his terrific run against South Africa, he has four centuries, six fifties in his 27 matches, and has an excellent average of 64.35.

Back in 2018, when India has toured South Africa – Virat has scored 558 runs which included 3 centuries and one fifty in that series. It was a moment of sadness for all the Indian cricket fans and especially Virat fans when he has announced about stepping down as Test Captian after India lost the Test series.

Former Indian batting coach Mr. Sanjay Bangar said that he expects Kohli to bat with freedom having been relieved from captaincy and expressed that – “The way I look, Virat Kohli is fabulous as a leader and he did that job really well for over six years. Now it’s time to unveil Virat Kohli 3.0 because he can be as damaging a batsman with no responsibility. So I look forward to some great batting performances from him because Virat Kohli the batsman is what sets the world on fire”
