Sourav Ganguly Reacts To Virat and Rohit’s Poor Form
Sourav Ganguly Reacts To Virat and Rohit’s Poor Form: Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI president has urged Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to have a strong return in the current Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Runs have exhausted the tandem, and spectators and analysts from all around the world are asking hard questions. Whereas Rohit has struggled to turn his beginnings into huge runs, Kohli has had a tough run, scoring 128 runs in 9 games with two golden ducks.
Whereas Ganguly feels that the former Indian captain would get over this challenging time, he admits that he has no idea what is happening with the 33-year-old. Furthermore, Rohit and Kohli must get back in action as soon as possible, assuming India’s forthcoming itinerary. In addition, World Cups will be placed relatively soon.
“They are great players and I am sure they will get back in form. I hope they start scoring runs soon. I don’t know what is going on in Virat Kohli’s head but I am sure he will regain his form and get some good runs. He is a great player,” said Ganguly.
Umran Malik’s Bowling Has Been Eye-Catching: Ganguly
When questioned about this season’s IPL, Ganguly expressed his appreciation for Sunrisers Hyderabad swift Umran Malik, who’s been consistently averaging over 150 kmph. He also praised Umesh Yadav and Khaleel Ahmed for their commitment.
“Umran Malik’s bowling has been eye-catching. Umesh Yadav too has bowled well and so has Khaleel Ahmed. I would say Umran Malik has been the outstanding face of the league so far,” said Ganguly.
“Oh, it’s very interesting, I am watching (the IPL). Any team can win and everyone is playing well. The two new teams – Gujrat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants – are doing well,” he added considering the new franchises in the IPL 2022.
“We have to increase the capacity of Eden Gardens. Now it’s [the capacity] around 67,000 and we have to make it 1 Lakh. Eden Gardens is an old stadium and we have to upgrade it”, as Ganguly is working to improve the seating of the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, which will host the IPL 2022 playoff games.
In the ongoing IPL 2022, 41 games have been completed so far in this. Gujarat Titans, one of the newcomers to the league, are on top of the standings with 14 points after seven victories in eight games. And, the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) have both struggled ever since, with no win following eight games.
