PBKS vs LSG Key Players
Punjab Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants Players Battles Preview:
PBKS vs LSG Key Players Battles: The stage couldn’t have been more beautifully set up for this game. Punjab fresh off a win against CSK will be facing off against Lucknow. Two friends who have played all their cricket together will now be opposite each other. Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab will turn up to counter KL Rahul-led Lucknow’s challenge. It will be a different sort of homecoming for the former Punjab captain, KL Rahul.
We Look At The PBKS vs LSG Key Players Battles In This Contest:
#1 Mayank Agarwal vs Mohsin Khan / Avesh Khan
Punjab’s success in this tournament so far has largely relied on the openers. They have gone on to win games in which their openers have provided them with solid starts. If it was Shikhar Dhawan against CSK, then it was Agarwal against MI. Punjab’s success will be dependent on Agarwal negating the Khan threat. Be it either Avesh or Mohsin Khan.
#2 Bhanuka Rajapaksa vs Ravi Bishnoi
It can be argued that Bhanuka Rajapaksa adds a different dimension to the Punjab side. They played their best XI in the last game. Rajapaksa is someone who can take on the bowling right from ball one. It was strange that Punjab didn’t field Rajapaksa in their playing XI for so long.
He will be the ace up Punjab’s sleeve to tackle the threat of Ravi Bishnoi. The LSG wrist-spinner is yet to fire on all cylinders. But he more than just possesses a threat to all batsmen. His contest against Rajapaksa will be interesting.
#3 Liam Livingstone vs Krunal Pandya
Punjab’s enforcer in the middle overs, Liam Livingstone has found varied ways of scoring. His game against spin though work in progress is mighty explosive. He will look to unleash himself against the left-arm spin of Krunal Pandya. The senior Pandya is a wily customer who ties down batsmen with his tight lines and lengths. It will be interesting to see who aces this battle.
#4 Quinton De Kock vs Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep Singh has been mighty effective for Punjab since 2020. He has troubled the best of batsmen. Singh’s strength is that he remains unfazed with the quality of the batting he is bowling against. He will be the key for Punjab to strike early in this game. Singh will fancy his chances against De Kock. The diminutive wicketkeeper has struggled for form lately. He will be challenged against Singh.
#5 KL Rahul vs Kagiso Rabada
Kagiso Rabada tested KL Rahul quite a lot when India toured South Africa earlier this year. The right-arm fast bowler found his element against CSK. He combined with Arshdeep Singh to stop CSK in its tracks. But Rabada is yet to strike decisively with the new ball. KL Rahul, on the other hand, has already gotten out twice on the first ball of an innings. If Rabada manages to pull off a special delivery, Rahul might find it difficult. On the contrary, if he settles down, Punjab will be panicking.
