DC vs LSG Match Highlights:
Lucknow Super Giants defeated Delhi Capitals by 6 runs in Match 45 of IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Chasing a target of 196, Delhi Capitals started their campaign on a bad note as Dushmantha Chameera gave LSG a flying start, removing Prithvi Shaw in the second over. Mohsin Khan then got rid of David Warner in the next over. The skipper Rishabh Pant along with Mitchell Marsh took the charge then and seemed to be running away with the game in the middle overs before LSG lost two wickets in quick succession.
In the very first of his spell, Krishnappa Gowtham dismissed the danger-looking Mitchell Marsh. In the next over the young spinner, Ravi Bishnoi bowled Lalit Yadav.
Both Pant and Powell continued to their natural game and added 34 runs before Mohsin Khan bowled Pant. The skipper scored 44 runs off 30 balls but couldn’t manage to convert it to a big inning. Rovman Powell also got out after scoring 35 off 21 with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes.
Axar Patel though tried his level best in the end by scoring quick 42 runs in 24 balls but was unable to hand Delhi two much-needed points.
Mohsin Khan remained the star bowler for LSG in this match as he took four crucial wickets, While Dushmantha Chameera, Ravi Bishnoi, and Krishnappa Gowtham took a wicket each.
After winning the toss and elected to bat first, the openers Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul gave LSG a perfect start, scoring 41 runs in the first four overs. But in the second ball of fifth over, Shardul Thakur stopped de Kock by trapping him in his off-cutter delivery.
The skipper KL Rahul and the dependable Deepak Hooda then hit fifties and with small cameos of Marcus Stoinis (17) and Krunal Pandya (9) LSG posted 195 runs on board.
KL Rahul remained the highest run-scorer from his team. He played a sensible innings of 77 in just 51 deliveries with a strike rate of 150.98.
For DC, Thakur took three wickets, while the other bowlers remained wicket less.
With this win, Lucknow Super Giants moved to the second spot in the IPL 2022 points table.
