Everyone in the cricketing universe knows Deepak Chahar, He was not an all-night star who faded away in less time. He has a journey that is filled with a lot of hard work and ample support from his father Lokendrasingh Chahar. It was his coach Navendu Tyagi, who recognized his passing towards fast bowling. Navendu Tyagi is the current coach of Rajasthan and speaking about Chahar he said – “He was so enthusiastic. So was his father. Chahar’s discipline was a result of his father’s association with the Indian Air Force. My approach to coaching was more holistic, but his father was a great influence on him,” 

Chahar used to travel with his father for almost 110 Kms daily from Suratgarh to Hanumnagarh. It was during the year 2010 when Chahar has made his first-class debut against Hyderabad and made a huge mark with a sensational spell of  7.3-2-10-8.

Chahar has also taken his bowling lesson from coach Tarak Sinha and medium-pacer Manoj Prabhakar. Speaking about Chahar both coach Prabhakar said – “I remembered Tarak sir telling me to stick to line and length. And I followed his instructions. The first wicket was the boost I needed, a good out-swinger that kissed the edge and went to the wicketkeeper. I know what judicious use of various means,”

Deepak Chahar’s fortune changed when he started playing under MS Dhoni – In his career graph, Dhoni played a major role by assisting, mentoring, and giving enough opportunities to prove his true potential.

His excellent performance in IPL has earned him a ticket to Team India and this is where his career graph has taken off. He has all the qualities that the best pacer can ever have – Line & lengths, Variations, Slower Balls, Swing, and pace.

He was picked for a whopping price of Rs 14 Cr by Chennai Super Kings for this edition. But unfortunately, he has recently suffered an injury in the 3rd T20 against West Indies. And this has raised many questions regarding his availability for IPL 2022.

Few of the inside sources have expressed their opinion and said – “Deepak Chahar’s injury looks bad. For all you know, he could be out of the IPL too (he was bought by the Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 crore in the IPL auction)”

Many of the cricket experts are predicting that he will not available for IPL 2022 and a few of them oppose those statements. But there is no proper clarification from both BCCI and CSK management about his injury.

Let’s wait and see whether one of the “Expensive buys of IPL 2022 will play or not”.
