ILT20 Season 2 Retention
The six participating franchises have confirmed a star-studded retention list for the DP World ILT20 Season 2 which will feature fastening cricket action for the second consecutive season.
The Gulf Giants, winners of the inaugural ILT20 in 2023, and the Desert Vipers, runners-up, have retained the majority of their players for the second season, which begins on January 13, 2024. MI Emirates followed suit.
Champions of the inaugural edition of the DP World ILT20 with an astonishing and miraculous performance, the Gulf Giants have retained a total of 11 players from the previous season.
Among the top names are Abu Dhabi Knight Riders’ ICC T20 World Cup 2012 and 2016 winner, Andre Russell, and last year’s captain, the powerful spinner Sunil Narine – ICC T20 World Cup 2012 winner.
Among prominent retainers for Desert Vipes are Alex Hales, Ali Naseer, Colin Munro, Luke Wood, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Tom Curran.
Champions Gulf Giants have kept the foundation of their victorious lineup, which includes skipper James Vince, Chris Jordan, Chris Lynn, Shimron Hetmyer, and all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite.
MI Kieron Pollard, Emirates’ power-hitter, has also been retained. Dubai Capitals have kept Dushmantha Chameera, Joe Root, and Sikandar Raza as their finest top three, while Sharjah Warriors have retained Chris Woakes, Tom-Kohler Cadmore, along with other prolific players.
