Why is BCCI tightening the rules?
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has been strengthening the rules around family members’ presence around the players before, after or during the matches. Apart from this a new rule about travelling, “Players to use the team bus while coming for practice. Teams may travel in two batches” a new BCCI rule being conveyed to every IPL franchise from the season 2025.
Here is the overall part of the rules including a ban on family members in the dressing room, even during practice days. Teams are allowed to split into two groups if needed but players are meant to travel on the team bus. On practice days, only accredited staff can be in the dressing room and on the field, while family and friends must watch from the hospitality area.
