However, Sandeep Sharma proved expensive, going for 55 despite claiming one wicket. Wanindu Hasaranga couldn’t make much impact, struggling with consistency, and Riyan Parag chipped in with the crucial dismissal of Markram. Despite early breakthroughs, RR couldn’t maintain pressure at the death, allowing LSG to post a challenging total of 180/5 in 20 overs.

Tense Chase for RR

Rajasthan Royals had a strong start to their innings, with a 14-year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s IPL debut being the highlight moment, alongside RR’s promising starter Yashasvi Jaiswal. Vaibhav and Yashasvi made sure to hit big shots in powerplay, while Vaibhav hit a maximum in his first IPL ball, Yashasvi was motivated to put on a strong score on the scoreboard. Although Vaibhav had a significant impact of 34 runs in 20 balls, he was stumped in the 8th over. After which Yashasvi Jaiswal led the innings alongside Nitish Rana who had a short stint of just 8 runs and alongside skipper Riyan Parag.

After his dismissal Riyan Parag tried to anchor the innings but failed as he was dismissed by Avesh Khan for 39 runs off 26 balls. RR were in the same situation as their last super over encounter as they needed the same 9 off 6 balls with the same two batters on the crease Jurel and Hetmyer, Avesh Khan the bowler maintained in control of the situation after dismissing Hetmyer in the last over, as he managed to stop RR and win by just 2 runs.
