Quinton de Kock starred with an unbeaten 97 off 61 balls, leading the batting line-up to chase the target of152 with ease in just 17.3 overs and hand KKR their first victory this season. 

Earlier, RR struggled to build momentum with the bat, managing only 151/9 in their 20 overs, courtesy of disciplined bowling from KKR’s attack.

Rajasthan Royals’ struggles with the bat 

Batting first, Rajasthan Royals faced early setbacks, losing Sanju Samson (13) in the fourth over. Yashasvi Jaiswal looked promising but failed to convert his start, scoring 29 off 24 balls.  

Riyan Parag, leading RR in this match, contributed a steady 25, but KKR’s bowlers kept things tight. Moeen Ali two for 23 on his KKR debut and Varun Chakaravarthy two for 17 choked the middle overs, preventing RR from building partnerships.  

Dhruv Jurel’s fighting 33 off 28 balls was the only notable resistance, as RR could manage just 151/9 in 20 overs. Vaibhav Arora (2/32) and Harshit Rana (2/36) also played crucial roles in dismantling RR’s batting order. 

De Kock’s brilliance seals the win 

Chasing 152, KKR started cautiously but lost Moeen Ali (5) early in the powerplay. However, Quinton de Kock took control of the chase, smashing 97* off 61 balls with 9 fours and 6 sixes. Ajinkya Rahane (18) provided support before being dismissed, but young Angkrish Raghuvanshi (22* off 17) stayed with de Kock to finish the game in style. KKR reached the target in just 17.3 overs, sealing a comprehensive 8-wicket win. 

For RR, Wanindu Hasaranga (1/34) was the only wicket-taker, while the rest of the bowlers struggled to contain KKR’s batting might. Jofra Archer (0/33) and Maheesh Theekshana (0/32) failed to make an impact as KKR cruised to victory with ease.
