Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Punjab Kings 34th Match highlights

RCB, asked to bat first, could only manage 95 for 9 in their allotted 14 overs. The innings began in disarray, with Phil Salt falling in the very first over. Virat Kohli also failed to fire, and despite a promising 23 from captain Rajat Patidar, RCB’s innings crumbled under disciplined bowling.

Tim David’s late 26-ball 50 not out with the help of five fours and three maximums brought some respectability to the score.

Arshdeep Singh and Marco Jansen did the early damage with two wickets each, while both the spinners, Yuzvendra Chahal and Harpreet Brar kept the middle order in check with tight, wicket-taking spells.

In response, the Punjab Kings side chased down the target with 11 balls to spare, finishing at 98/5 in 12.1 overs. Prabhsimran Singh provided a brisk start with a 9-ball 13, while young Priyansh Arya impressed with a quick 16.

The middle order wobbled momentarily with Hazlewood picking up key wickets, including skipper Shreyas Iyer and Josh Inglis. However, Nehal Wadhera’s composed 33* off 19 balls and Marcus Stoinis’ steady hand saw the Kings home comfortably.

The match saw some sharp fielding moments and bowling brilliance, especially from Hazlewood (3/14) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/26) for RCB, but their efforts weren’t enough to defend a below-par score. The victory consolidates Punjab’s playoff ambitions while leaving RCB in urgent need of a turnaround as the tournament progresses.
