Punjab Kings vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru 1st Innings Update for IPL 2025 Match 37

In a gripping encounter at the IPL 2025, the Punjab Kings posted a total of 157/6 in their 20 overs against a disciplined bowling attack. The innings began on a positive note, with Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh providing a solid foundation, but a flurry of wickets in the middle overs prevented the Kings from fully capitalizing on their start.
Let’s look at Punjab Kings vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru 1st Innings Update.

After being put in to bat, Punjab’s openers walked out with purpose. The young Priyansh Arya showed great intent, scoring a quickfire 22 off 15 balls, laced with three boundaries and a six. He looked in great touch before being dismissed by Krunal Pandya, caught by Tim David.

His partner, Prabhsimran Singh, continued the momentum, smashing 33 off 17 at a striking rate of 194.12, providing early fireworks before also falling to Krunal.

However, once the openers were back in the pavilion, the middle order began to wobble. Captain Shreyas Iyer struggled to find rhythm and managed just 6 off 10 deliveries.

Josh Inglis, on the other hand, played a brisk knock of 29 from 17, keeping hopes alive for a big finish, but his dismissal at 112/5 derailed the momentum.

Nehal Wadhera and Marcus Stoinis couldn’t make much of an impact, and a run out added to the pressure. It was Shashank Singh (31* off 33) and Marco Jansen (25* off 20) who held their nerve and added some valuable runs at the end, ensuring Punjab crossed the 150-mark.

Among the bowlers, Krunal Pandya (4-0-25-2) and Suyash Sharma (4-0-26-2) were standouts, striking at key moments. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was economical upfront, conceding only 26 in his four overs.

While 157 may not be a towering total, it’s certainly competitive on the surface offering something for both batters and bowlers. The onus is now on the Punjab bowlers to defend the target and to stay in the top 3 on the points table.

Punjab Kings defeated the Royal Challengers Benagluru in their recent match this season by five wickets.
