PBKS vs KKR 31st Match Highlights for Indian Premier League 2025

Cricket fans witnessed an unexpected rollercoaster at New Chandigarh as Punjab Kings pulled off one of the most astonishing victories in IPL history, defending a mere 111 runs to beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 16 runs. We look at PBKS vs KKR Highlights for 31st Match Today.

What was expected to be a routine chase turned into an absolute humdinger, proving once again that T20 cricket is anything but predictable. This win marks PBKS’ fourth victory of the season, and with it, they climbed to fourth place on the points table—while also registering the lowest successfully defended total in a full 20-over IPL match.

Punjab Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders 31st match highlights

The match began with a shaky performance by Punjab Kings’ batting unit. Despite a blazing cameo from Prabhsimran Singh (30 off 15), wickets kept tumbling. Harshit Rana (3/25) and Varun Chakaravarthy (2/21) were brilliant for KKR, reducing PBKS to a paltry 111 in just 15.3 overs.

The collapse was swift, with no batter after the top order making a significant impact-making the total seem far below par on a decent batting pitch.

However, what followed was nothing short of a miracle. PBKS bowlers came out with relentless intensity. Marco Jansen (3/17) and Yuzvendra Chahal (4/28) were the architects of the collapse, while Bartlett and Arshdeep provided vital breakthroughs.

KKR, in reply, never found momentum. From losing Sunil Narine and Quinton de Kock inside two overs to collapsing from 72/3 to 95 all out, their innings unraveled dramatically.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s 37 off 28 was the lone resistance, but the rest of the lineup failed to stand up against disciplined, attacking bowling. The drama peaked when Andre Russell, their last hope, fell at 95, closing one of the most improbable finishes in IPL history.

Lowest totals defended in IPL

With their sensational win over KKR, defending just 111 runs, Punjab Kings now hold the record for the lowest total ever defended in a full 20-over IPL match. They surpassed CSK’s 116/9 in 2009. This remarkable feat places PBKS at the top of the list of lowest totals successfully defended in IPL history.
