Noor’s 4-Fer Stuns KKR Despite Rahane’s Graceful 48

Having won the toss, KKR decided to bat first and put up a fighting 179/6 in 20 overs. The match began with Rahmanullah Gurbaz playing freely, making 11 off 9, before he was out early to a quick catch by Noor Ahmad off Anshul Kamboj.

Powerplay returned 67 runs, most due to Sunil Narine’s aggressive 26 from 17. The innings was supported by Captain Ajinkya Rahane’s classy 48 from 33, but the real game-changer came through CSK’s superstar spinner, Noor Ahmad.

Noor Destroys KKR Core, Joins Top of IPL 2025 Wicket Chart

Noor was brilliant once again, tearing down the KKR middle-order with his deceptive variations. He picked up four vital wickets, Narine, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Andre Russell, and Rinku Singh, ending on 4/31. With this effort, he reached a season total of 20 wickets, becoming the joint highest wicket-taker of IPL 2025. Despite a late unbeaten 36 by Manish Pandey, KKR failed to cross the 180-run mark.

Brevis’ blistering 52 sets the tone before Dhoni-Kamboj duo seal the chase

In response, CSK started shakily by losing both openers, Ayush Mhatre and Devon Conway, without giving them a run. Then Dewald Brevis put CSK back on track with his aggressive 52 off 25, ably supported by a gritty 45 from Shivam Dube. The middle order teetered again, but the perennial wall, MS Dhoni 17*off 18, kept his cool with pressure, leading his side towards victory.

With only 8 runs required off the last over, Anshul Kamboj showed nerves in combination with Dhoni to finish the chase, winning a close 2-wicket victory for CSK.

Vaibhav Arora was KKR’s best bowler, taking 3/48, while Varun Chakaravarthy and Harshit Rana added two wickets each.
