When everyone was worried how India will tackle the English side at their home during in the T20 series, given their batters are in destructive form, Bhuvneshwar Kumar – the swing magician of India came out of syllabus for England and thrashed the English line-ups in first two T20s.
In both the T20s against England, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was able to make the ball swing, which led to rewards for the pacer. He trapped the skipper Jos Buttler second time in a row to maintain his dominance on English soil. He took 3 wickets in the second game and later rewarded with player of the match title for his stellar outing with the ball.
This performance enabled Team India to defeat England by 49 runs in the second T20I and take a commanding 2-0 series lead.
In the first T20 he dismissed the England’s skipper Jos Buttler on duck. While in the second T20 he removed Jason Roy on golden duck with his perfect outswing delivery.
Apart from both the openers, the swing magician of India, Bhuvi also got rid off Richard Gleeson and ended his campaign with a spell of 3-15.
What Bhuvneshwar said about his bowling?
During a post-match press conference, Bhuvneshwar expressed his thoughts on how the ball is swinging for him in the UK, his mindset, and whether he looks forward to playing Test cricket for India.
“Honestly, I do not know. I have been to England many times. And it did not swing in the past few series. So yes, even I was a bit surprised that the ball was swinging. And it is swinging for a long period of time, especially in T20 cricket. And there is a bit more bounce in the wicket as well. When the ball swings, you enjoy it more.” Said Bhuvneshwar.
Honestly, I do not know whether I am swinging it, it is the condition or it is the ball. If the ball is swinging, that is my strength so I look for attacking options then. In both these matches, the ball swung and I attacked and hence I got the wickets.” he added.
The third and the final T20 between India and England will be played on Sunday at Trent Bridge.
