In the second Twenty20 International match on Saturday at Edgbaston, Team India defeated England by a commanding margin of 49 runs to take a commanding 2-0 series lead. In the game on Saturday, India extended their effective bowling performance from the series opener by limiting England to 121/10 in 17 overs after establishing a goal of 171 runs. MS Dhoni, a great Indian captain, was also there at Edgbaston to watch the game.
With his family, Dhoni is now on a tour in the UK where he just celebrated turning 41 on July 7. Following the completion of Saturday’s game, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted images of the legendary skipper conversing with Team India players inside the team changing room on their social media accounts. Photographs show Yuzvendra Chahal, a wrist spinner, and Ishan Kishan, an opening batsman, paying close attention to the words of the legendary Indian cricketer.
When posting the images, BCCI captioned them with the phrase “Always all ears when the great @msdhoni talks!” Dhoni declared his retirement from international cricket in 2020, yet he is still unquestionably one of the most significant figures in the sport for the current India team. When the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the UAE in 2021 was taking place, Dhoni was last connected to the national team as the squad’s mentor.
While everything was going on, Dhoni’s renowned admirer and wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant of India was also seen in the picture. In a photograph that is now doing the rounds on social media, he is seen standing alongside Dhoni. It is important to note that Pant was recently sighted at Dhoni’s birthday party as well.
In the match, India was handed the much-deserved victory. Both teams, India and England will now lock horns in the 3rd T20I on Sunday at Trent Bridge.
