India and Australia will lock horns at the World Test Championship Finals at The Oval, London, from June 7 to June 11, 2023.

Australia won 11 Tests and finished first in the 2021–2023 World Test Championship standings, while India won 10 Tests and finished second.

Team India qualified for the Test event for the second time. They will seek to win in 2023, as they lost against Kane Williamson-led New Zealand last time.

India and Australia’s record at The Oval

This is one venue where both India and Australia have always struggled. While Australia has only won seven Test matches out of 38 total, India has only won two.

India’s record at The Oval

India has played 14 Test matches at The Oval and has won only two of them while losing five and drawing the other seven.

The first victory for India came in 1971, when Ajit Wadekar’s team upset Ray Illingworth’s England by four wickets while chasing 173. The only other victory came in September 2021.

India defeated England by 157 runs at The Oval in 2021, their first Test victory at the venue in 40 years.

Australia’s record at The Oval

Australia is the only team that is familiar with the conditions in England more than any other team in the world because they were the first to compete against England in competitive cricket.

Despite this, their team has only won 7 games, lost 17 times, and drawn 14 times in 38 games at The Oval.

Australia last triumphed here by an innings and 46 runs in 2015, with Steve Smith collecting the Player of the Match award for his superb 143.

IND vs AUS Head-to-Head Record

India and Australia have played each other in 106 Test matches. India has won 32 of these 106 games, while Australia has won 44. 29 games finished in a tie, while one match ended in a draw.

IND vs AUS Pitch Report

The Oval cricket ground is a high-scoring venue, but there is still plenty for bowlers to enjoy. The weather in England is always shifting and unpredictable, making it difficult to forecast whether the ball will dominate or bat. In short, the pitch benefits both batters and bowlers.

The bounce on the pitch is usually good, allowing quick bowlers to generate movement and spinners to establish a grip.

IND vs AUS Match Prediction

Australia is without a doubt the most dominant side in Tests right now, but there is one team that gives them a run for their money every time they play them. India is the team, and Australia has not defeated them in a Test series since 2014/15. They were defeated both at home and in India.

Both teams have shown grit by performing well throughout the tournament, but India appears to be a step ahead of Australia in the race for the championship.

Based on the last several Tests between these two sides and the performances of Indian players in England, we predict India to win this WTC Final Test match and take home the WTC trophy this time.
