Despite 50 for 2 after 8.3, the New Zealand side faced a tough time at the middle, as they only managed to add more 60 in the next 69 balls.

Amelia Kerr 17-ball 9, captain Sophie Devine’s 19 off 25, and Brooke Halliday’s 22 off 24 all of their main batters scored runs at a strike-rate way below 100.

In reply, Pakistan lost half of their side inside the powerplay itself. Captain Fatima Sana did try to rescue, but due to lack of support from other end, she also lost her wicket in pressure.

Fatima’s 21 was the highest for her team, as Pakistan bowled out for only 56 in a make-or-break game in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 that ended their run in the tournament.

Amelia Kerr bagged three wickets for 14 in 2.4 overs. Eden Carson also bowled a superb spell of 3-1-7-2.
