West Indies women defeated England by eight wickets in a road to semifinal clash to book their berth for the semifinal of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Let’s look at ENG-W vs WI-W Highlights.
Invited to bat, England posted 141 for 7 on board after 20 overs. Nat Sciver Brunt was the top run-scorer for the side with an unbeaten 57 off 50.
Brunt’s knock not only rescued the side from a difficult phase of 34 for 3 but pushed the team to set a competitive total. Apart from her, England captain, Heather Knight scored the second best 21 for her team before leaving the crease as retired hurt due to calf issue.
West Indies openers aim was extremely clear to complete the game as quick as they can. Skipper Hayley Matthews and Qiana Jospeh added 102 for the first wicket in 12.2 overs.
Joseph played her part well with a 38-ball 52, while Matthews also left the crease after scoring 50 off 38.
Experienced Deandra Dotting also played a decent knock of 19-ball 27 as West Indies chased down the target in 18 overs with six wickets in hand.

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 Semifinals
After the exciting league stage of the marquee event, the top four teams, two from each group, are ready for the next challenge.
Australia and New Zealand from Group A and from Group B will play the semifinal of the ninth edition of Women’s T20 world cup.
The first semifinal will be played between Australia women and South Africa women on October 17 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. While the second semifinal will take place on October 18 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium between West Indies and New Zealand women’s cricket team.
The winners of both the semifinals will face off in the final battle of the tournament on October 20 to claim the prestigious ICC Women’s T20 World Cup trophy.
