PAK vs ENG Match Highlights
For the T20 World Cup 2022, all of the teams are preparing. Qualifications have begun on one hand. Before the competition, those who are already in the Super 12 are participating in warm-up games. In the 3rd warm-up match, England defeats Pakistan by six wickets. Let us look at PAK vs ENG Match Highlights in detail.
Pakistan’s Innings
Batting first, Pakistan played pretty poorly. After a great debut by Masood, they ought to have put up a higher starting total. They lost their direction, finishing with 160 runs. After a long time, there was no half-century hit by Pakistan batters. We saw a fresh change where Babar and Rizwan were not there in there to open the innings for the team. Pakistan missed them dearly. It was a decent total but not good enough for England.
In total 8 bowlers from England tried their hands at bowling. Out of them, Willey managed to take two wickets. Stokes, Jordan, Sam Curran, and Livingstone took 1 wicket each. The bowling unit bowled well to restrict Pakistan to a below-par total.
England’s Chase
During the run chase, Stokes, Livingstone, Brook, and Curran all received solid center-field hits. The game was swiftly concluded by Brook and Curran, who came in middle with more than four overs remaining. Misfields and missed catches were many after that as England sped home. The highest run-scorer for the team was Harry Brook who hit runs. Liam, Curran, and Stokes, all hit 25+ runs.
Shaheen Afridi was economical but he didn’t get any wickets. Wasim Jr. took 2 wickets. Naseem Shah and Shadab Khan took 1 wicket each.
PAK vs ENG: Match Analysis
Pakistan will try to shake off today’s rustiness before the crucial match against India on Sunday. To regain their rhythm, they have another warm-up game planned. However, England will be particularly happy with how the pursuit turned out.
These two teams should have been familiar with one another after playing a recent seven-match T20I series. Following that, they both played a series; England defeated Australia, and Pakistan triumphed in the tri-series in New Zealand. This was a good pitch to check their bowling strengths.
PAK vs ENG: What Captains Said
Jos Buttler, the captain of the winnings team looked happy with team’s performance. He said, “Malan missed out today, so everyone moved up one. It is great to see him play well, he’s (Stokes) hitting the ball well in the nets and I am sure he will take confidence from the 30-odd he got today. Everything we wanted to get out of today we did.”
“Great to see Livingstone back on the field after a significant injury, getting four overs from Jordan as well, Brook and Curran getting some time in the middle. We batted first in the games against Australia and wanted to bowl first, so got what we wanted from the game.”
Shadab Khan, the losing captain talked about today’s disappointing performance. He said, “I think all the departments (were poor) but still the fielding is an eye opener for us, we didn’t grab the catches and misfielded a lot. Hopefully sit together and talk about these things.”
“It is good for us, he’s (Afridi) our top class bowler and best in the world, he bowled just two overs but still he found his rhythm. I think everything is sorted, all the combinations are sorted, when Babar and Rizwan come back everything will be fine. We didn’t perform well but it is a good thing this was a warmup game”.
