Hundreds in T20 World Cup 2022: Rilee Rossouw – 109 Vs Bangladesh

The first centurion of the T20 World Cup 2022, Rilee Rossouw has played the innings of his life when he smashed a brilliant hundred in the 22nd match of the T20 World Cup against Bangladesh.

Opting to bat, South Africa lost their first wicket in the first over itself. They lost their skipper and Bangladesh was feeling on top at the time. But the came Rilee Rossouw on crease and rest is history.

He first added 168 runs for the second wicket alongside Quinton de Kock. The wicket-keeper batter, however, got out after playing a knock of 63 but Rossouw remained at the middle. And smashed his second career hundred and also guided his side to 205 for 5 in 20 overs.

He played a knock of 109 in just 56 balls. His knock included seven fours and eight sixes and recorded runs at a strike rate of 194.64.

His knock and a 168 partnership helped the South African side cross the 200-run mark.

Their bowlers then did the remaining job for their side and bundled out Bangladesh for 101.

Hundreds in T20 World Cup 2022: Glenn Phillips – 104 Vs Sri Lanka 

In a big 27th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, we saw Glenn Phillips smashing the ball every corner of the stadium.

He came to the crease at a time when the Kiwis already in trouble as they lost their openers at the score of 7.

Soon, skipper Williamson also left the crease but Phillips stood strong from one end, and Daryll Mitchell provided him some support by adding 84 for the fourth wicket.

Neesham too walked back after scoring 22, but the left-hander Phillips still there and took the whole responsibility of scoring runs on his shoulders.

He struck a magnificent 104 in just 64 with the help of 10 fours and 4 sixes. His knock was the saviour of New Zealand’s innings as he guided the Blackcaps to 167 in 20 overs.

In reply, Sri Lanka was seen clueless in front of New Zealand’s fast bowlers as the pace-battery broke the back of team Sri Lanka by removing their top five at the score of just 25 and rest of the job was done by Blackcaps spinners. Boult bagged 4 wickets in the process, Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi grabbed 2-2. While Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson took 1-1 each to hand their side a 65-run victory.

The hundred from Glenn Philips was the highlight of the match and he won player of the match award for his heroics knock.
