On Wednesday, October 12, Marco Jansen is named as the replacement for Pretorius. Dwaine Pretorius is ruled out from the squad. Here we talk about Marco Jansen replaces Pretorius.

Marco Jansen got the promotion in the squad of 15, earlier was in reserve. Also, Lizaad Williams has been called up to replace Jansen in the reserve traveling players of South Africa.

Marco Jansen played in South Africa’s final ODI against India. The innings thus restricts at 99 runs. Jansen contributed 14 runs with the bat, but he was costly with the ball allowing 43 runs in 5.1 overs. Jansen has only played one T20I, which was against India in Rajkot in June 2022. He had 7 wickets in 8 matches for SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2022.

Dwaine Pretorius ruled out of the ICC due to a fracture in his left thumb

The star all-rounder for Chennai Super Kings suffered the injury ahead of the ODI series against India. Pretorius was part of a three-match T20I series in India that the visitors lost 2-1. Pretorius had three wickets in the most recent T20I against India in Indore.

South Africa will benefit from Jansen’s addition because the tall left-arm pacer has demonstrated the ability to succeed in T20I cricket. Jansen’s skills will benefit from Australia’s bounce and pace.

However, South Africa, on the other hand, will miss Dwaine Pretorius. Who contributed 9 wickets in their successful campaign in the UAE in 2021.
