South Africa continued their spectacular run in the World Cup with a 149–run win over Bangladesh at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

After facing a disheartening loss to the Netherlands, the South Africa side went on a rampage mode with successive victories and has reached the second spot in the 2023 World Cup points table.

Riding high on De Kock’s 174 and Klaasen’s quick-fire 90, the Proteas posted a massive total of 382, and in reply, the Bangla Tigers only managed to score and lost the game by a big margin.

Bangladesh faced a top-order collapse but a late flurry from Mahmudullah took Bangladesh to a respectable score of 149 runs.

SA vs BAN Highlights

In the ongoing World Cup matches between South Africa and Bangladesh at the Wankhede Stadium, Africa silenced the Bangladeshi bowlers.

The South African team, which came to bat first, lost its 2 wickets early, but the 131-run partnership between Aiden Markram and De Kock gave the Proteas a chance to make a comeback, which they capitalized with both hands.

Markram was out after scoring 60 runs, but De Kock’s bat started roaring faster in which he was also supported by the Heinrich Klaasen, the rain of boundaries from both the ends shocked Bangladesh and they didn’t able to find out the way to overcome that storm.

De Kock narrowly missed his double century and was at 174 runs, Klaasen played a strong inning of 90 runs in 49 balls to help South Africa reach 382 runs.

Mahmudullah tried his best with a knock of 111 but that wasn’t enough to get his side even closer to the target.

With this win, South Africa have climbed up to the second spot in the points table, while Bangladesh slipped down to eighth.
