Pakistan Started their World Cup campaign with a win over Netherlands by – runs in the second match of the ICC Cricket World Cup on Friday.  

The win however didn’t come easily for them as they have to fought hard for it against the 15th-ranked team in the world.  

Opting to bowl, the Netherlands side shocked the experienced Pakistani top-order and left them stunned at 38 for 3, a good knock from Mohammad Rizwan (68) and Saud Shakeel (68), provided them some relief as they managed to post 286 on board.  

Netherlands was well in the game till Vikramjit Singh and Bas de Leede were at the crease but as soon as they left the field, the Dutch side faced a collapse and lost the game by 81 runs.  

PAK vs NED Highlights  

Invited to bat, Pakistan was aiming to score big runs, but the Netherlands bowlers came on field with a different plan and dismissed the top-three, including the skipper Babar Azam when Pakistan was at 38. 

A good partnership between Mohammad Rizwan (68) and Saud Shakeel (68), however, brought the men in green back in the game.  

Mohammad Nawaz (39) and Shaab Khan (32) also played some decent knocks too in the end as Pakistan posted 286. 

Bas de Leede remained the star with the ball for Netherlands with his four-wicket haul. Colin Ackerman took 2 wickets. While Aryan Dutt, Logan van Beek, Paul van Meekeran shared 1-1 wickets each. 

PAK vs NED Highlights: Netherlands to chase 287 to win in 50 overs 

The chase was not easy for the Dutch side, but they started modestly against one of best fast bowling line-ups in the world currently, 

They, however, lost their experienced Max O’Dowd in the sixth over, and Colin Ackerman in the 12th. But a Partnership between Vikramjit Singh and Bas de Leede keep their side in game.  

Both shot fifties in the process, but as soon as they both got out, the Dutch team suddenly lost the grip and fell 81 run short of their target.
