We look at players who have hit the most sixes in WTC:

#5 Daryll Mitchell – 22

He has had a terrific run in the WTC. Daryl Mitchell had a field run in New Zealand’s tour to England last year. He kept churning out hundreds, Test after Test. New Zealand’s top order was often found wanting in tough English conditions. It was Mitchell who would perform the rescue act almost always. He eased himself into the innings and then looked to take on the bowling. Mitchell scored 22 sixes in 21 Test innings in the WTC. He is fifth on the list of players who have hit the most sixes.

#4 Mayank Agarwal – 23

Not so long ago he was India’s frontline Test opener. Mayank Agarwal had a terrific run in the period between December 2018-January 2020. He broke the door of national selection on the back of a terrific domestic run. Agarwal is one of the rare modern Indian players who have a strong game against spin. In fact, he is a better player of spin bowling as compared to seam bowling. He played a big part in India’s early dominance in WTC. Agarwal’s 23 sixes in 33 innings fetch him the fourth spot.

#3 Rishabh Pant – 38

India missed the services of Rishabh Pant in the Border-Gavaskar trophy and the 2023 WTC Final. Pant’s batting heroics have helped India break out of jail on more than one occasion. It was thanks to Pant’s histrionics that Indian fans tend to believe anything is possible in Test cricket. Pant has had such a lasting impact in what is still a young Test career. He is someone who is known to take on the balling it is no surprise that Pant is at number 3 on the six-hitters list this WTC. Pant has hit 38 sixes in 41 innings in the WTC so far.

#2 Rohit Sharma – 38

The Indian captain, Rohit Sharma identified a brand of cricket that at least he would be playing in Test cricket. His distinctive style of play became even more evident when he took over Test captaincy. Rohit Sharma has been keen to take on the bowling even with the red ball. He has often got off to quick starts across conditions. Sharma started in top gear even in the 2023 WTC Final alas he couldn’t carry on for long. His tally of 38 sixes in 23 Tests finds him the second spot on this list.

#1 Ben Stokes – 59

He has been the central figure behind the new look of Test cricket. Ben Stokes as soon as he assumed the responsibility of Test captaincy wanted his side to play a certain way. He wanted England’s Test side to entertain the fans by playing a brand of cricket that was fast and aggressive. Ben Stokes has clearly walked the talk in this WTC. He tops the list of players to have hit the most number of sixes in WTC. Stokes’ count of 59 sixes is a clear first ahead of the second best.
