David Warner will be the newest superstar to join the Fox Cricket commentary team crew after his spectacular double-century against South Africa in the second test match. The news follows after Foxtel Group’s massive $1.5 billion agreement with Cricket Australia to host Australian cricket until the year 2031.
What is FOX Cricket?
Australia’s Fox Cricket is a pay TV service that specializes in showing cricket games both domestic and international and related content. It is owned by Fox Sports Pty Limited and accessible on Foxtel in all of Australia. The channel premiered on September 17, 2018.
The star-studded lineup in the FOX cricket Commentary team
With the addition of Warner, the impressive Fox Cricket lineup now includes Adam Gilchrist, Isa Guha, Mike Hussey, Allan Border, Mark Waugh, Kerry O’Keeffe, Brett Lee, Brendon Julian, Mel Jones, Mark Howard, and Kath Loughlin.
FOX Group CEO’s Comments
Foxtel Group Chief Executive Officer Patrick Delany said that “David Warner has been one of our most exciting cricketers since he burst onto the international scene in 2009, and we are thrilled that he will be joining our world-class FOX Cricket team. A fiercely loyal and tough competitor on-field, he is an exceptional analyst of the game and will bring unique insights and perspective to our FOX Sports coverage through FOX Cricket across Foxtel and Kayo Sports.”
New Opportunities for David Warner
The Delhi Capitals are in need of an interim captain as Rishabh Pant will be out for all of the IPL 2023, or at the very least the first half. He was in a horrendous accident on Friday morning, yet he escaped with only a torn ligament rather than broken bones or major internal wounds.
David Warner, the most seasoned player with captaincy experience, would take the helm, although it seems improbable given that he just joined the club.
Warner’s goal of winning the World Test Championship in 2023
After scoring a double century against South Africa in the series’ second Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground, David Warner has recently gained attention and been in the press (MCG). The opening batter accomplished the mark in his 100th Test, becoming just the second player worldwide and the first Australian to do so.
He will now appear in the Pink-Ball Test, where the hosts will be looking for a historic 3-0 victory to advance to the World Test Championship finals.
