We look at Batters who have scored most 6s in an innings in World Cup 2023:

#5 Quinton de Kock – 7 vs BAN

He already had scored two centuries walking into this game. Quinton de Kock had a solid start to the tournament scoring two consecutive centuries. He went into the defensive mode in the third game against Netherlands. QDK failed to a single-digit score against England after hitting the first ball to the boundary.

On a flat Mumbai deck, opting to bat, QDK was hungry for runs. He put in a masterclass of a batting effort as he dispatched the Bangladesh bowlers to all corners of the ground. QDK hit 174 off just 140 balls. He struck 7 maximums in his innings.

#4 Heinrich Klassen – 8 vs BAN

He hit a brilliant hundred against England under testing conditions in the previous game. Heinrich Klassen has had a dream 2023. He was easily the best batter against spin in IPL 2023. Klassen has carried his form over to international cricket. He is arguably the best number 5 in ODI cricket in the world currently. Klassen walked in when South Africa was in a dominant position against Bangladesh. He then did what he does best under such circumstances. Klassen hit 90 off just 49 balls wherein he smashed 8 sixes.

#3 Kusal Mendis – 8 vs SA

South Africa had posted a World Cup record total of 428 batting first against Sri Lanka at Delhi. The Asian side needed to get off to a strong start in response. Only Kusal Mendis stood out in Sri Lanka’s chase. He singlehandedly provided Proteas the jitters. In a stunning assault, Mendis slammed 76 off 42 balls to keep Lanka in the hunt. His knock comprised 8 huge sixes. The special thing about his knock was that it came against high quality bowlers known to keep batters in check.

#2 Mitchell Marsh – 9 vs PAK

The pressure was mounting on Mitchell Marsh and Australia in the World Cup. He failed to get going in the first couple of games that Australia went on to lose. Marsh found semblance of form in the game against Sri Lanka. But it was against Pakistan where his entire repertoire of strokes came to the forefront. Marsh in the company of David Warner went hammer and tongs. The right handed batter made an eye-catching 121 off 108 balls. He deposited 9 balls over the ropes during this innings.

#1 David Warner – 9 vs PAK

The veteran Australian opener showed why he is rated so highly in ODIs. David Warner has unbelievable numbers in ODI World Cups. On a belter of a track in Bengaluru, Warner chose to unleash himself on the Pakistani attack. The short boundaries at the Chinnaswamy proved to be a useful aid to Warner. He scored a big hundred almost batting Pakistan out of the competition. Warner slammed 163 off 124 balls. He hit 9 sixes in this bludgeoning knock.
