ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Road to the Final

The finalists, India and New Zealand, are set to face off for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title at Dubai International Stadium on March 9, 2025. India, unbeaten so far, will be challenged by New Zealand, who are eager for revenge after their group-stage defeat against them. Let’s take a look at ICC Champions Trophy 2025 road to the final.

India’s Path to Final

Team India’s unbeaten run is still alive in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, they remain unbeaten with four wins from four matches. Their journey to the final saw victories over Bangladesh, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Australia.

India’s opener against Bangladesh resulted in a six-wicket win, with Mohammed Shami’s 5/53 and Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 101*. Against Pakistan, Virat Kohli’s masterful 100* helped India chase down 241 runs. They then defeated New Zealand by 44 runs, with Varun Chakravarthy’s five-wicket haul and vital knocks from Shreyas Iyer (79) and Hardik Pandya (45).

India cemented their unbeaten streak by defeating Australia with four wickets in hand, thanks to Kohli’s 84 and contributions from the lower order. India now heads to the final, aiming to secure the title with an undefeated record.

New Zealand’s Comeback

New Zealand who hail from the same group as India, now have a target set at avenging their defeat against India in the Finals. New Zealand has shown why they belong to be the contenders for the title of ICC Champions Trophy 2025, with solid performances with bat and ball. Their only defeat came against India in Dubai, where they had already qualified for the knockout stage.

Their Champions Trophy campaign started with a 60-run win over Pakistan, with Will Young and Tom Latham scoring centuries. A five-wicket win against Bangladesh followed, with Michael Bracewell’s 4/23 and a match-winning century from Rachin Ravindra. Despite losing to India, New Zealand qualified for the semi-finals.

They bounced back with a dominant 50-run victory over South Africa, thanks to centuries from Ravindra and Williamson, and strong bowling performances. Both the finalists with their strong motives prepare to battle it out for the ultimate prize on Sunday, which is 9th March, 2025.
