ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Final Match Injury Update
Sunday’s Champions trophy 2025 final match between India and New Zealand is set to be the final stone of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. With Key players looking out of order for both the teams, here’s a look at ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Final Match Injury Update.
Leading wicket-taker uncertain
Matt Henry who sustained a shoulder injury while taking a catch in the semi-finals against South Africa. Although he managed to bowl a couple of overs later in the match, his availability for the ICC Champions Trophy final against India remains uncertain. Coach Gary Stead provided an update, stating that when scans were done and Henry had been given every opportunity to play, his situation was still unclear.
Henry has been New Zealand’s top bowler in the tournament, claiming 10 wickets at an average of 16.70, and his absence would be a significant blow to the team. If Henry is ruled out, Jacob Duffy, who hasn’t played a match in the tournament so far, could be called up to replace him. Duffy’s potential inclusion might surprise, but he offers depth as a fast bowler.
Is Virat Kohli Injured?
Virat Kohli sustained a knee injury during a practice session ahead of India’s Champions Trophy 2025 final against New Zealand. The injury occurred when a fast bowler’s delivery struck his knee, causing Kohli to halt his training session. He was immediately treated by the team doctors and physios, who applied a spray and bandaged to the area.
Despite the injury scare, the Indian coaching staff reassured that it isn’t serious and Kohli is expected to play in the final. Kohli has been in impressive form throughout the tournament, and India will count on his contributions in the crucial final. Rishabh Pant is the immediate replacement for any batting injury in the team, although his chances are slim to make it to the final.
