The 4th match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 between England and Australia was not only marked by a massive crowd but also by an exciting display of runs from both high-profile teams. Here’s a look at the England vs Australia 4th match highlights of ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Ben Duckett a Showrunner

Ben Duckett scored his highest-ever ODI total, scoring 165 off 143 balls, marking the first 150 in Champions Trophy history, to anchor England’s innings. After struggling in India, Duckett batted until the 48th over. Joe Root contributed 68 from No. 4, adding 158 runs with Duckett for the third wicket. England’s middle-order ticked over but faded towards the end, with no other batter exceeding 25. Despite this, they posted 351, the highest total in Champions Trophy history.

Nathan Ellis was the best bowler economically with no wickets, conceding just 51 runs in 10 overs. Alex Carey took three catches, including a spectacular one to dismiss Phil Salt. Ben Dwarshuis took the most wickets, he amassed 3 wickets and gave away 66 runs in 10 overs. Australia chose to bowl first, hoping dew would aid their chase on a flat pitch.

Australia’s Challenging Run Chase

Australia added another high-run chase to their name, even though they had an underwhelming start to their innings with early Travis head and Steve Smith dismissals under 5 overs. After these significant dismissals Matt Short with his 63 off 66 balls and Marnus Labuschagne with his 47 off 45 balls stabilized the innings. Although they were dismissed leaving Australia at 136/4 in the 22nd Over.

Josh Inglis and Alex Carey then carried the innings, as they easily and evidently helped shorten their run chase. Alex Carey scored 69 off 63 balls, Alex Carrey’s half century was blessed by a Jofra Archer drop in 37th over but  was dismissed in 41st over, Alex Carey finished the game with a maximum. Alex carey’s 120* off 86 balls, and Glenn Maxwell’s quick 32* off 15 balls , helped Australia finish the game with 356/5 off 47 overs.
