Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has called out on-field umpires in the ongoing WTC Finals between India and New Zealand at Southampton.
He has tweeted stating – “Funny umpiring there with Virat. No decision was given by the umpire and it automatically became a review. Tuning in to the Women’s test match, for the time being, hoping for Harman and Punam to save the Test match,”

This incident happened during the 41st over where Trent Boult has appealed for a caught behind dismissal of Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Interestingly on-field upmire has not given his decision yet but the final call was given by the 3rd umpire.
The 3rd umpire has reviewed it with “Ultra Edge”. However, it could be only used when the opposite captain (Kane Williamson) asks for a review.
UltraEdge is basically used to see whether the batsman has hit the ball or not. New Zealand also did not lose a review as Williamson had not asked for a referral.
The Indian skipper was not pleased with the 3rd umpire looking at the Ultra Edge review – He was seen asking some clarification about the review with the on-field umpires.
Earlier New Zealand has won the toss and elected to bowl first in the inaugural World Test Championship finals against Team India. Due to rain and unplayable conditions – Toss has to be moved to Day 2 at Southampton.
Here is the Playing 11 of India and New Zealand For WTC Finals:
