Williamson 41 Runs Away From Faf du Plessis In Elite T20I List

Kane Williamson, Captain of New Zealand is about to set a very big turning point when he takes to the field against India in the fourth T20I of the five-match series in Wellington on Friday.

In the final two matches, the Kiwis will be playing for pride as India took an unassailable lead in the series on Wednesday after their exciting Super Over victory in Hamilton.

Williamson is on the verge of becoming the captain with most runs in T20Is, who struck a masterful 95 off 48 deliveries in his last match.

He has hit 1243 runs as a skipper in the shortest format and he is only 41 runs short from breaking the record of most number of runs in shorter format – And currently, the record is being held by South African skipper Faf du Plessis who had made 1273 runs.

Kane Williamson As A Highest Run Scorer Of The Series

Many will use it against Williamson that he was in superior contrast to Indian bowlers but he could not break the record.

In the series, Williamson is the highest run-getter, and during three innings he has made 160 runs with 12 boundaries and 10 sixes in the series.

He is the only player from both teams who have made double-digit in terms of sixes and fours. And he has an excellent strike rate of 170.12.

It was only Willamson’s effect that India’s captain Virat Kohli admitted that New Zealand had deserved to win in the game of Hamilton.

As the captain, he had brought them within touching distance of the win. Super Over trauma is still haunting the New Zealand setup.

“At one point I felt we were gone,” Kohli had said during the Hamilton post-match presentation.

Virat even added – “I told our coach they could win as per their performance. The Way Kane has done batting, on 95. Feeling sad for him, I know what those knocks do when things are going your way.”
