West Indies Set To Unleash Latest ‘Fab Four’ In England

West Indies are set to field their latest fast-bowling quartet:

During the first Test series against the team of England, West Indies team is all set to field their most recent fast-bowling quartet in Southampton with Kemar Roach, Alzarri Joseph, skipper Jason Holder, and Shannon Gabriel, all are ready to give their best.

The Caribbean has produced fantastic fast bowlers. On Thursday, the projection of Gabriel of playing against England in the opening series at Southampton enhanced after he was introduced to the team of West Indies formally. At first, he was among the traveling reserves but now he has been included in the top-15 strong frontline team after giving his terrific form following ankle injury with top-class displays in the Intra-team warm-up matches at Old Trafford.

Let’s have a look on some of the last West Indies pace attacks in England:

1980: Andy Roberts, Joel Garner, Michael Holding, Colin Croft

The novel ‘fearsome foursome’ transformed the world of cricket under the mentorship of Clive Lloyd ensuring there was no pause for any batsmen.

Although all are able to play really quickly, the speed of Holding, the cleverness of Roberts, the sharp bounce, and outstanding yorkers of Garner and the intelligence of Croft has created different issues for batsmen.

The Test series also viewed the greatest fast bowler of West Indies, Malcolm Marshall to set himself in the team.

Even so, the team of West Indies won the series with 1-0 and Roberts claimed eight wickets in a two-wicket victory at Trent Bridge before the other four games were all drawn largely because of weather obstructions.

1984: Marshall, Holding, Garner, Eldine Baptiste

The team of ‘Blackwash’ hit England 5-0. The score was a historic performance for the hosts when Marshall knocked debutant Andy Lloyd on the head with a bouncer in the opening series with the batsmen never playing another Test match.

The expertise of Marshall was marked when he took seven-wicket by conceding 53 runs in the 3rd Test match at Headingley despite having a broken thumb and he concluded the series with 24 wickets at a rate of 18.20 despite missing a game through injury. Garner, the Barbados team-mate claimed 29 wickets at an average rate of 18.62.
