The West Indies have named their 15-man team for the ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2021. In the premier tournament, Kieron Pollard will be the captain and Nicholas Pooran will serve as his deputy for the Men in Maroon. Here is West Indies Squad For T20 World Cup 2021.
The Indies selectors, in particular, have gone with their finest talents, since there were some unexpected additions to the lineup. Roston Chase and Ravi Rampaul have been chosen as a result of their outstanding performances in the current Caribbean Premier League(CPL). Notable players selected to demonstrate their quick passes in the top rank include Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Lendl Simmons, and Andre Fletcher.
In the middle order, vice-captain Nicholas Pooran, who is also the wicketkeeper, will split responsibility with Shimron Hetymyer. It’s worth noting that the committee chose a number of all-rounders. Andre Russell, Fabien Allen, and Dwayne Bravo in addition to captain Pollard and Chase have also been picked.

As a result, the Indies are likely to field a strong hitting combination. Considering the event being held in Oman and the UAE, the selectors have chosen only one specialized spinner, Hayden Walsh Jr., And Ravi Rampaul shall team up with Obed McCoy and Oshane Thomas among the pace bowlers. Former West Indies player Jason Holder is one of the 4 travelling reserves, despite not being assigned to the team.
Darren Bravo, Akeal Hosein, and Sheldon Cottrell were also picked backups with the all-rounder. In terms of significant dropouts, speedster Alzarri Joseph has not been examined, and Sunil Narine remains unavailable. Furthermore, CWI’s chief selector believes that this team would do well in the battle.
“The squad is one with good depth and strength in all departments. There is tremendous T20 experience along with World Cup-winning experience which should stand the team in good stead. This squad is made up of many world-beating players who, once knitted into a world-beating team, will be extremely difficult to beat,” he said in a statement.
