“It was great to have played the final of the ICC World Test Championship against New Zealand in what was a memorable contest. Not just the final, we saw the determination of players throughout the first edition of the championship”, said Virat Kohli in a press conference.

‘Hoping To Give Our Fans A Lot To Cheer In The Next WTC Cycle’: Kohli

Virat Kohli Says India Will Regroup With New Energy. Team India captain expressed his belief that his side will offer supporters enough to celebrate in the WTC’s second cycle.

“The following of cricket lovers too was great to see, and I am sure they will all be waiting eagerly for the second edition. We will regroup with new energy for the next cycle starting with our series against England, hoping to give our fans a lot to cheer about.”

England captain Joe Root, from the other side, stated that it will be beneficial to challenge India in their home environment. When Virat Kohli’s side visited India in 2018, they were defeated 4-1. India, on the other hand, recently imposed revenge by thrashing England 3-1 at home.

Test cricket is a format we all want to excel in and with points at stake for each match, everyone has to be at their best all the time”, said Root.

IND and ENG will play their first Test match on 04’ August at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
