We Can Get Up And Perform Well Against India: Gary Stead

India has been one of the strongest teams in recent years. Apart from their disappointing performance in the recent ICC T20 World Cup 2021, they are a formidable force. New Zealand is scheduled to visit India for a series of 2 Tests and 3 Twenty20 Internationals.

India has been almost dominant at home. It becomes considerably more difficult to defeat them in the game’s longest format. Overlook about dropping a Test home series, Virat Kohli’s side has only lost 2 Tests at home from 2017.

As a result, the Kiwis have a difficult assignment. If they want to beat India, they would give more than their best. New Zealand has recently brought the best of India, defeating them in the WTC final, Test and ODI home series, and also in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. As a result, Williamson and team would be optimistic about their odds of making history on the subcontinent.

Hopefully, we will have a really great performance against India:Gary Stead

The Kiwi coach, Gary Stead,  is completely aware of the hurdles that will be faced by his team. “It’s the first time that I can remember that we’re so quickly into another series immediately at the back-end of the T20 World Cup,” Stead.

It’s definitely tough and challenging but it is what is in front of us.” he said. Members who did not make New Zealand’s T20 World Cup team have already arrived in India and are preparing for the assignment.

We’ve got nine-ten guys in India already, who are preparing for those Test matches, and hopefully we can get up and have a really great performance against India,” he added.

He also updated the status of Lockie Ferguson’s availability. “In terms of Lockie, I think he is pretty close,” Stead said. “We will just make sure we get over there, travel okay and there’s no issues like seizing up on the flight or anything like that. But I’d expect that he’s going to be available for selection, which will be fantastic.” said the Kiwi coach.

The series featuring India and New Zealand is expected to begin on November 17, with the first Twenty20 International match taking place in Jaipur. After the T20I series concludes, the Test series begins on November 25. The Test series will be held in Kanpur and Mumbai.
