In Visakhapatnam, during the second ODI against West Indies, the Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer executed an exquisite fielding effort to dismiss Shimron Hetmyer, the West Indies batsman.
It took place during the delivery of the 14th over which was cut by Hetmyer of Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling. Initially, what seemed as a certain boundary was stopped by Iyer. Immediately, the fielder threw the ball at the bowler’s end when Hetmyer and Shai Hope were attempting a third run.
It was an outstanding pinpoint throw which led to the wicket of dangerous Hetmyer who was just on 4 off 7 balls. Iyer, who scored yet another ODI half-century, made the day special with that outstanding fielding effort.
In fact, Iyer in his knock became the first Indian batsman to score more than 30 runs in one over of an ODI.
West Indies skipper, Kieron Pollard, after winning the toss, opted to bowl. Helped by the individual centuries of both the opening batsman, Rohit Sharma who scored 159 and Rahul who hit 102, India posted a brilliant 387/5 in 50 overs.
