When the 46th match of the ninth season’s Big Bash League was taking place in Melbourne between Melbourne Renegades and Hobart Hurricanes, the wicket-keeper batsman Sam Harper of Melbourne Renegades and pacer Nathan Ellis of Hobart Hurricanes collided dangerously.

As Harper landed with his helmet on, he received medical attention immediately. He was not expressing any affirmative signs using his body language as he was badly hurt. Due to a concussion eventually, the 23-year-old player retired hurt.
Batsman Tom Cooper was called in as a concussion substitute in this match for Renegades.
Renegades had a difficult task in front of them as the veteran batsman Shaun Marsh was dismissed on 56 while chasing a 191-run target.
Earlier, Daniel Christian, the Melbourne captain won the toss and opted to the bowl. Hobart posted a score of 190 for the loss 3 wickets in the 20 allotted overs. Opener Matthew Wade scored 66 runs while Macalister Wright scored a 70.
