The Tournament Has Scheduled To Host By Australia:
The coronavirus pandemic has caused a number of cricket matches to be cancelled. Above all, due to the increasing number of cases in India, IPL 2020 must be postponed indefinitely. The whole situation created a big problem for the ICC with regard to hosting the T20 Men’s World Cup later this year.
Australia is planned to host the tournament. The next cricketing event begins on 18 October and runs till 15 November. While Australia has done an excellent job containing the virus, it is doubtful that its borders will open for international travel soon.
The tournament behind the doors is one possible thing that emerged. The last ODI in March had been played with no crowds until the coronavirus halted any international cricket. the match was held between New Zealand and Australia in Sydney.
How could you have a cricket World Cup without spectators?- Wasim Akram:
When the prospect of a tournament in this situation has discussed, Wasim Akram, former Pakistan’s captain, expressed an opinion. The fast bowler said that the tournament won’t be a smart idea. In order to get the right feel, Akram said that a world event needs to be played with crowds.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea personally. I mean, how could you have a Cricket World Cup without spectators? A World Cup requires huge audiences, with fans from all over the world supporting their teams. The atmosphere and behind closed doors can’t be reached, “said Wasim Akram.
He proposed that ICC wait for the T20 World Cup at the right time. The tournament could have been speculated to be moved to 2022. No proof of that is available as of now. Akram is strong of the view that ICC must aim for a proper crowd tournament after having played five world cups for Pakistan.
“Once these pandemic incentives and prohibitions are relaxed, the ICC will wait for a more suitable period,” the former pacer said.
