Australian players that competed in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, which has been postponed, have had a difficult few weeks. Due to the Australian government’s travel prohibition, the Australian team was forced to fly to the Maldives after the competition was brought to a halt. Despite this, all of the players and staff members returned to Australia last week after a 13-day stay on the island. David Warner, the dashing opener, is also returning to Australia, much to the joy of his wife Candice. Warner’s Wife says it’s been ‘tough’ for family after suspension of IPL 2021.
‘It Was Difficult’, says Warner’s wife Candice Warner – about their Family Situation after the Suspension of IPL-2021
The second wave of COVID-19 was causing trouble in India at the time of the season’s suspension. Moreover, despite being in the bio-secure bubble, several gamers and staff members got the infection. With the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opening in the COVID-ravaged country, Candice and her children Ivy, Indi, and Isla were worried. Warner’s wife spoke up about her family’s horrible experience, on Wednesday.
“I guess that was a really hard time for our family”- Candice
Warner’s Wife says it’s been ‘tough’ for family after suspension of IPL 2021.“It was difficult but even more for my daughters, who are now at the age where they can feel and understand what is going on. I thought they were a bit oblivious to the situation but when they’re seeing things on the news or parents at school are coming up asking how their dad is or how David is, I guess that was really hard for us,” she said on The Morning Show.
Candice went on to say that the left-handed batter and his children are quite close. As a result, his girls are keeping track of the days on a calendar. The 34-year-old is presently serving a 14-day isolation term in Sydney and will have to wait a few more days to see his family.
“David is such a hands-on father. He is the larrikin, the one that entertains the kids and the girls can’t wait to have their father home,” Candice asserted.
Meanwhile, Warner will be unable to spend much time at home due to his selection in Australia’s preliminary team for the July trip to the West Indies. Starting July 10, the Australians will play five T20Is and three ODIs on the Caribbean islands. With the ICC T20 World T20 scheduled to take place later this year in India, it would be an excellent opportunity for both sides to prepare.
