Waqar Younis Statement On ICC:
Former Pakistani cricketer and commentator Waqar Younis said that the ICC World Test Championship has no sense if there is no match between India and Pakistan.
Generally, nine test teams are featured in the World Test Championship. They will play six bilateral Test Series with an adversary with the leading two teams having the highest points at the end of the tournament conflicting in the final match in 2021 June in England.
In an interview, the Pakistani cricket coach Waqar said that “ I know it is a complicated state in between India and Pakistan even at the two governments levels but according to me ICC has to play a major role in this regard.”
Since the year 2008 Mumbai Attack, India hasn’t toured Pakistan. And because of complicated political relations, since 2007 the two neighbors have never played a complete Test bilateral Series.
Waqar Younis also regretted that because of the difficult relationship with India, he got a chance to play only four Test matches against India in his international carrier.
Praising Comments About India:
He added that “My first debut test match was against India, which I can’t forget in my life.”
“India has focussed in this area and now they are producing fantastic bowlers who can bowl in the 140 plus range. Previously, it was not like this. But now Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami have taken the India Cricket to the top. So, India is doing outstanding in both Tests as well as other formats.”
“ If we look at the test side of Indian Cricket, they have less or more improved formats of pace bowlers, but in this format of the white ball, they are changing and experimenting with the bowlers, which is a good thing.”
Want To Experiment With Pakistan Bowlers:
Waqar Younis said that “ As the bowling coach Pakistan National team, also want to experiment with the Pakistani bowlers in limited over cricket and develop a complete team of Test cricket bowlers who can serve the nation for next 5 to 8 years.”
