Virat Kohli Under Conflict Of Interest Scanner : Sanjeev Gupta Writes To BCCI Ethics Officer

Virat Kohli ‘s Ownership Of A Few Businesses Has Been Put Under The Microscope Due To The Conflict Of Interest Laws Of BCCI:

The Lodha Committee, while reworking the constitution of the Control Board for Cricket in India ( BCCI), made it clear that conflict of interest is an environment that needs to be fought hard to properly manage the game of gentlemen. Because this saw quite a few former cricketers, including current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, have to give up several posts. And now, the present status of India skipper Virat Kohli’s was challenged by Sanjeev Gupta in an e-mail to Ethics Officer D.K. Jain.

In a letter to a leading website, Gupta spoke about Kohli ‘s business projects and claimed that it is in violation of the recommendations of the Lodha Panel that had been approved by the Supreme Court when the new BCCI Constitution had been registered.

‘Virat Kohli occupies two posts at a time in flagrant infringement of BCCI Rule 38(4) authorised by the Supreme Court of India. As such, he must surrender his one post at once in compliance, his two posts are subject to the provisions of-A-38(4)(a)-Player. B-38(4)(o)-Contractual Entity, to be read in accordance with BCCI Rule 38(1) (iii).

“I humbly urge the Learned Ethics Officer to forthwith pass an order directing Virat Kohli to give away one of his posts at once in compliance with the BCCI Constitution of 21.08.18 Rule 38(4) (Approved by the Apex Court).

“My sole purport for filing each and every precise/actual complaint is that 100 percent of Lodha Reforms & Supreme Court ‘s compliance with the BCCI Constitution has been accepted without any personal motive and without any vested interest. I am least concerned about the individual’s persona/aura, as I am only concerned about 100 percent enforcement. No individual, how rich/big/influential/powerful one is, can ever be above the law of the land. “Supreme Court” verdict, everybody must respect, accept & comply with 100% forthwith & fall in line.

a”Nothing to gain and nothing to do with me, it is the judgments of the Supreme Court of Sanctity & Enforcement at stake for which I am alone battling day in & day out for the last 4 years & will continue to do so until my mind & body will endorse such noble cause/intention without any fear/favor/influence/help/influence, I have not and will not leave any stone unturned for the same,” he wrote.

Gupta mentioned in his mail the involvement of the Indian captain with VIRAT KOHLI SPORTS LLP, which has two directors/owners, namely Virat Kohli & Amit Arun Sajdeh. And CORNERSTONE VENTURE PARTNERS LLP, which has three directors/owners, Virat Kohli, Amit Arun Sajdeh, and Binoy Bharat Khimji.
