Indian Skipper Virat Kohli has finally opened up on the super over’s which happened during the 3rd and 4th T20 games between India and New Zealand.
India has won the T20I series and both the team are looking forward to ODI Series.
Virat Kohli During an Interview – ” We couldn’t ask for more exciting games, we’ve never played Super Overs before and we’ve won two of them now,” Kohli said.
He added – ” We initially thought about opening in the Super Over with (Sanju) Samson and KL, but then KL told me I should be batting because of the experience and the options I’ll have. His (KL Rahul) two strikes were critical and I knocked the ball into the gap and took the team across the line,” Kohli said.
” At the top of the order, Sanju was confident but we didn’t read the pitch quite well. He should get a bit more time to settle. Saini has again been impressed with his speed. We were very proud of the way he bowled ” Kohli explained.
Meanwhile, a dejected New Zealand stand-in captain Tim Southee noted that it was tough to take the consecutive Super Over defeats. Despite Kane Williamson, the hosts ruled him out of the contest as a shoulder injury.
” Especially in the roles that we put ourselves in, it is very difficult. They took them with both hands and we gave them a chance. We have a bowling attack for young people and it is tough. Give them a sniff when you are playing against quality opposition in India and you make it hard for yourself,” Tim Southee said.
