He Played A Big Role- Virat Kohli:
Virat Kohli was one of Indian cricket’s most effective captain. He has made his presence felt, through his remarkable performances in test matches for India thus putting his country at the top of the game in the longest format. In Australia, Virat was also the first Indian cricketer to win a test series.
In 2014, when he took over the spot of MS Dhoni in test cricket, he started his captain ‘s job and was then handed over limited over cricket duties in 2017 as well.
Virat learned the tricks of the trade from one of the best in the game before taking over the sport. While the winner of the 2007 World T20 and the 2013 Champions Trophy, Dhoni won the 2011 World Cup.
Kohli feels that Dhoni ‘s understanding of how he evolved during his career eventually took his cloak. Kohli said in an Instagram video live chat to his colleague Ravichandran Ashwin about ‘Reminisce with Ash’ that “the becoming captain was not even in my wildest dreams.”
Kohli Said That He Always Had Tactical Conversations:
Kohli has said that in matches he also had tactical talks with Dhoni. “I’ve always been in the hands of MS Dhoni. He’d deny a lot, but he’d speak too much. I think he had much faith in me and much of me was a captain and he was watching me for a long time.
“It can’t be that he’s going to a selector and he just says, ‘Make that man’s capital.’ He has to identify the person and then look at how the guy develops slowly. I think that he played a major role, and you must build that trust in the course of 8 or 9 years.
The test cricket was dominated by Kohli India and won the ODI series in South Africa and Australia.
