“They have to forget the scoreboard. They’ve gotten one inning and they should focus on getting a big score. You can’t do that over the course of the first hour or first session. You, as a batting unit, individually, have to work out your own mindset, your own game to understand how you are going to get that big individual score,” Vaughan told.
Vaughan said that going into the fourth Test, a few batsmen like Rohit Sharma and Pujara needs to find their form. He also opined that Rohit Sharma should avoid the pull shot as he got out of it multiple times.
“They’ll lose this week, I’m pretty sure. But can you find a bit of form from one or two of those players… Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara? Sharma can’t afford to get out to the pull shot once again. Virat Kohli himself needs to find form and rhythm,” Vaughan said.
India will need some heroics to save this Test like VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid played back in the days. This looks more than ambitious but Indian players will definitely show some fight.
The fourth Test will be played in London at Oval. It will start on the 2nd of September 2021.
