Kohli achieved the feat in just 462 innings. Tendulkar had taken 493 innings, 31 innings more to reach the milestone in international cricket. Brian Lara and Ricky Ponting took 511 and 514 innings respectively following the two Indian superstars.

Kohli is the only batsman in the 22000-run scorers who average above 50. In fact, his average of 56.15 is significantly higher than the second-best on this count than Jacques Kallis who has an average of 49.10.
