Virat Kohli Asks Mayank Agarwal To Convert His Double Century Into A Triple

Before foraying into Team India, Mayank Agarwal has had to wait for a long time. It was only after he scored tons of runs on the domestic circuit that he was able to make his Test debut against Australia at the famed Melbourne Cricket Ground. It can be said after his first 12 innings of his career that he has grabbed the opportunity with both hands.

In October, in Visakhapatnam, he scored his maiden Test hundred against South Africa and converted it into a double-ton. The batsman from Karnataka is now continuing his form against Bangladesh. He was invincible at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. The Tigers mostly employed four bowlers, out of whom only Abu Jayed picked up four wickets to make a real impact.

Mayank Agarwal thrashes Bangladesh

Ebadot Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and Islam from Taijul appeared lackluster. Mustafizur Rahman was not picked by the visitors either, making it an inexperienced Bangladesh attack. At the end of Day 1, Agarwal got a reprieve when Imrul Kayes dropped him in the slip cordon. The batter went from strength to strength from that point on. The 28-year-old scored a century and made the Tigers pay.

Mayank got to his second double century in the third session. In the 99th over’s first four balls, Agarwal played four dot deliveries off

Mehidy. He was at that point on 196 and ran down the track in the fifth ball, depositing the spinner over the wide long-on zone for a six. He then raised his bat as his teammates stood up and applauded.

On the other hand, on the first day, Kayes would have rued the missed chance. With his right hand, he made a gesture, asking Mayank to turn his double century into a triple. Interestingly, Virat asked him to get a double after Mayank scored his ton. After scoring 243 runs, he eventually got out to Mehidy.
