Former U-19 world cup winning captain Unmukt Chand has now officially retired and bid his adieu to Indian cricket on 13th August 2021. He has taken over Twitter and officially announced his retirement from Indian cricket and put a series of four tweets with a caption – ” On to next Innings”. At the end of the long message, he has written – “I would like to say that things have not been smooth in the last few years and opportunities have been denied.”
“Though a part of me is not at peace with the way things have unfolded in the last few years, I still choose to see the silver lining and fondly bid adieu to BCCI and seek better opportunities around the world,” he wrote.

He has thanked the BCCI for all the support right from his young cricket days and he has written about his U-19 and IPl memories.

Chand has captained India in the 2012 U-19 world cup and he has successfully led the side for the title win against Australia. In that finals, he made an unbeaten knock of 111 and anchored the Indian innings for a comfortable chase of 226 runs. He has played a total of 67 first-class and 120 List A games along with 77 T20s.
