The ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup thirteenth edition will start from January 17 (tomorrow) in South Africa. Having ultimately hosted the tournament in 1998, this will be the second time that South Africa is hosting a U-19 World Cup. The premier match will be played between hosts and Afghanistan in Kimberley.

The sixteen team-tournament will be played beyond 24 days with the final scheduled to take place on February 9 in Potchefstroom.

The teams have been divided into 4 groups. After they play 3 matches of their respective squads, the top two groups from each group will play the quarter-finals before going directly into the semi-finals and next to the finals.

It’s worth mentioning that defending champions India have won the tournament for a maximum of 4 times. Other than India, Pakistan and Australia and have received the match three times and twice, respectively.

Just like in the previous U-19 World Cups, fanatics would be carefully looking at the tournament to discover new superstars from their respective teams.
