Glenn Maxwell smashed the highest Big Bash League (BBL) total in history by demolishing the Hobart Hurricanes bowling with an undefeated 154 runs with 22 fours and 4 sixes. Beginning the innings for the Melbourne Stars, captain Maxwell had been at his ruthless form, scoring the 2nd-fastest BBL century in 41 deliveries, behind only Craig Simmons, who achieved the record in 39 balls in 2014.
The T20 World Cup champion was on fire, hitting 22 fours in his innings, the highest by any batsman in all T20 competitions. With his destructive knock, the pretty tough hitter led his team to post a massive total of 273/2 in their 20 overs. As the big event broke multiple records, the Melbourne crowd was lucky to see one of the most exciting and best T20 innings of all time. His Melbourne Stars scored the greatest total in the BBL era, as well as the 3rd-highest total in all T20 contests.
154*, the greatest @BBL knock ever.

Maxwell scored his 2nd hundred of the season, having scored his first against the Sydney Sixers in Melbourne on December 15, 2021. He hit 103 runs in 57 balls, including 12 fours and 3 maximums, although his side was defeated by 7 wickets. Throughout his BBL stint, the right-handed hitter has 2 hundred, both of which have come this season. Beginning the innings in T20s is something that the Australian likes doing, as his top T20I score of 145* (65) came versus Sri Lanka in Pallekele in 2016 when he went insane and smashed 14 fours and 9 sixes.
Maxwell, 33, played his 100th Big Bash game, and he surely made it unforgettable and exceptional by hitting a terrific inning. Maxwell became the 6th player in BBL history to surpass the 100-match mark following Moises Henriques- 100, Chris Lynn- 102, Ben Cutting- 107, Jonathan Wells- 108, & Dan Christian- 118. Maxwell has featured for both Melbourne clubs, first for the Renegades in 2011-12 and then for the Stars in 2012-13.
With his incredible strength, Maxwell made the final league match of the current Big Bash League an exciting show to watch. He managed a strike rate of 240.62 and made history. The Hobart bowlers had no solution for his continuous aggressive hitting, which was backed by Marcus Stoinis, who also grabbed the momentum and came up big by hammering 75 runs off 31 deliveries.

Been critical of BBL this summer but saved best for last entertainment wise. Boyce double hat-trick into a 41-ball Maxwell century is pretty decent viewing. #BBL11
